Work at University Physicians, Inc. EOE M/F/D/V University Physicians, Inc. (UPI) is the centralized faculty practice plan for the University of Colorado School of Medicine. Established in 1982, UPI is organized as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit entity, which represents the clinical business interests of approximately 1,000 faculty physicians at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. This multi-specialty group practice has two primary affiliated teaching hospitals, University of Colorado Hospital and The Children’s Hospital, as well as multiple other clinical sites and affiliations. As a highly centralized faculty practice plan, UPI management is responsible for all aspects of professional fee billing and collections. UPI is also responsible for all physicians’ managed care contracting, marketing, network development, and management.
