Back to Main University Physicians, Inc. (UPI) and University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) have partnered with PacifiCare of Colorado, Inc. as primary and specialty care providers in PacifiCare’s health plans. For the University of Colorado faculty, staff, and affiliates, UPI and UCH are offered exclusively. The effective dates for these plans vary with the majority becoming effective January 1, 2004. Under the PacifiCare plans, the outpatient pharmacy benefit is governed by a closed formulary. That is, drug coverage is only provided for drugs on the formulary. Drugs not on the formulary are not covered. All physicians should make certain that all outpatient prescriptions for PacifiCare members are on the PacifiCare Preferred Drug Formulary.
